Belief Systems and the Paradigms We Live
By - How We Shape Our World
Belief Systems We Choose and Belief Systems Which Choose US
We are born into a multitude of paradigms which rule our
lives and our thoughts. These paradigms or belief systems
govern everything from our food choices and to our views of
other people our expressions of affection to our money
management, etc... These are the belief systems that
choose us. In other words, these are practices that are in
place from the time we are born, reinforced for many years and
accepted without much, if any, question or thought. They may
be familial or societal paradigms, but they are part of our
life from birth to adulthood.
At some point and to some degree we learn that we
decide what we believe. This depends upon our
understanding of reason and logical thought as well as our own
ability and experience in making decisions. Some may realize
they can control very simple belief system choices and others
may realize they have the volition to embrace or reject
powerful and fundamental belief systems. In this process of
growth and maturity, the belief systems which choose us
naturally hold some sway.
The Nature of the Universe -- Order or Chaos
There is a fundamental belief which creates
an undercurrent in our beliefs about the world. That is the
question "What is the Nature of the Universe" and/or
"What is the Nature of Our Creator". This
fundamental question, envelopes many paradigms reflecting
beliefs about the nature of our world and ourselves as human
beings. Also, there is the implied question of "Architecture"
.. In other words, is the Universe a place of Perfect Order,
governed by Perfect Law and Ultimate Truth or is the Universe
a place of chaos and the unknown and unknowable?
This fundamental belief dramatically
influences our capability of believing or comprehending other
thought system choices.
The Faculty of Reason: Breaking the Chains That Bind You
Thinking and living in our greatest
potential has to do with our use of the Faculty of Reason. If
we rethink our thoughts we can recreate our beliefs. When we
make the conscious decision to do this, we become active in an
effort to Create, ReCreate and CoCreate Our Self. It begins as
thought transforming into emotion and the end result is change
in action and reaction. We become the Man or Woman we choose
to be. In this, lies Perfect Freedom.
